Test results

Getting your test results

Once your doctor has reviewed your results, he or she will only contact you if further action or treatment is needed. However, if your GP told you to make an appointment to review your tests, then it is important that you do so, and not assume the results are okay.

If your results dictate that you need to be dealt with urgently you will receive a phone call from us, or, for less urgent needs, you may hear from us by post.

If you are asked to phone the surgery with regard to your results this does not necessarily mean that there is anything seriously wrong but may well just mean that your doctor feels that your results need explaining to you or that further tests are required.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • in your Patient Access account
  • phone or visit us between after 11am
  • Please bear in mind that blood tests can take up to a week and other results such as x-rays can take up to a month to come back.
