We have a First Contact Physiotherapist who works from Stockwood
Paul is the First Contact Practitioner (FCP) who is an experienced physiotherapist, with a background working in professional sport for many years, as well as Orthopaedic triage. He also ran his own successful private practice for 15 years. Alongside his NHS role, Paul also teaches at the University of the West of England as well as working for the RFU delivering advanced pre-hospital trauma care training. Paul specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions. He is a prescriber and an Injection Therapist. Paul has enhanced skills to assess, diagnose, refer to the radiology department for investigations, perform steroid injections, and recommend appropriate management plans and further referrals for musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. FCPs are trained to identify ‘red flag’ symptoms which may require urgent medical attention.
Patients contacting the surgery for problems relating to pain in their joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons or spine will have their first appointment with Paul to enable the best management decisions to be made for the problem, rather than waiting to see a GP or being referred to hospital.
Paul works at the surgery every Tuesday & Thursday, contact us to book an appointment.
