Myth-busting & Support Session
Join us for an online information and support session on
Monday 3 November @ 17:00 – 17:30
with Dr Rosie Laurie and Nurse Ronnie Simms
Not only can a cervical screening test give you peace of mind – it can also potentially save your life.
Formerly called a smear test, cervical screening is a test to check the health of a cervix, and is offered to all women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 on a regular basis.
We’ve answered some frequently asked questions about cervical screening at the surgery over the years, but with nearly 1 in 3 not attending their cervical screening test we want to share information and support if you’re worried about cervical screening or your screening results.
We would therefore like to invite you to our on-line myth-busting session where a GP and Practice Nurse will provide information, support and be available to answer any questions you may have.
If you would like to join the session, please sign up by providing your email address in the short form Below. You will then receive a meeting invite via email. The meeting will be scheduled via Zoom and you can join on your computer, tablet or phone.

If you’ve never used Zoom before, all you need to do is click the link where it says ‘Join Zoom Meeting’, or ‘Click here to join the meeting’. When you click the link, it will take you to a window on your default internet browser. Click the option in the centre to continue on this browser.
You may be asked to allow the use of your computer’s microphone and/or webcam. Simply click ‘Allow’ if this comes up in order to give you the option of participating fully in the meeting – Don’t worry, you’ll have complete control over your camera and microphone, and nobody
will be able to see/hear you on the call unless you choose!
Once you’ve done that, a window will pop up that prompts you to type your name, and choose your settings for joining the call.
We recommend you mute yourself before entering the call to minimise any background noise. You may also find you need to turn your camera off if you don’t have strong internet signal.
